I’m just revisiting this sentiment and realizing it hasn’t lost its appeal! (Which as the writer of it, is encouraging.) Of course I’m a little biased, too.

Being proactive about your own end-of-life plans is a game changer, you should definitely try it. Replace the dread of ‘funeral planning’ with the delight of planning your party! — where you say Goodbye for Now, Folks and hopefully a heartfelt Thanks for Everything, It Was a Blast!

Your whole view of mortality is altered (likely improved) when you take the reins and decide that your life celebration isn’t about people celebrating you, but YOU celebrating THEM with your parting words of love, gratitude, and who-knows-what-else. When you make the time to sit down and jot some ideas out… you never know what thoughts will come to you.

It should be fun, so if you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right.

And while you’re at it, leave some awesome Last Wishes. Truly the icing on the cake.
